Clotilde

(art direction/
photography/photo transfer)
A tale about Clotilde, the princess of the sewers: who lives in misery, without feeling miserable. These photo transfers on waste, made from original photographs, seek a refocusing of beauty, productivity, and utility.

Original text
Clotilde is the princess of her world. She is the princess of the sewers. She rubs shoulders with the stench, the filth, the marginal, and makes it her kingdom. She makes of her home the uninhabited, and of her food, the flowers. Of her water, the puddles, and of her misery, her crown.
Clotilde abandons herself from hideousness. Clotilde lives with pigeons and junkies. Clotilde sleeps like a baby in the alleys. Clotilde walks barefoot in the shit. Clotilde loves every corner of a world she has made her own.
